Summer Solstice

Image
Cut out outfits are a great way to show skin this summer, and keep that little bit warmer this summer (because it's actually still freezing in the shade). This dress from 6KS is a floaty babydoll design - not my usual, but the mesh embroidered fabric is gorgeous, and the design is flattering on any figure - it hangs off the shoulders rather than from below the bust. It's the kind of dress you can just throw on to ramble around in or dress up for a party. It's only really fitted on the shoulders, which is definitely a classy way of showing off a figure. But the flounciness and floral pattern keeps it girly and fun. I decided to keep the palette neutral, adding a tan bag and wooden heels to brighten up the colours; the feathers worked well with this, and swept over hair balanced out the mixed the look up a bit. I matched the pewter leather with my mushroom nail paint (unknowingly, but it was my most neutral varnish so it worked!). I felt the red lipstick complimented the col...

Shopcade Style Battle

Image
Behind the scenes on the Shopcade Blog I'm so happy to announce that I won the Shopcade Style Battle this month. So I'm going to tell you all about my experience. This is the winning look I entered on the app, which you can shop here : First, I got an email asking if I was free on the dates of the photoshoot and party, to which I replied yes. Next thing I knew, I had an email saying I'd won! So I went to the photoshoot where they did my hair, makeup and styled me in Motel Rocks clothes (my favourite brand right now). The theme was matte grunge, so I put on my grumpy, but fun face and really had an amazing time. Here's what went down: It was so much fun, and everyone was so friendly and made me feel at ease. The selection of outfits was amazing, and I even got to keep the monochrome shirt outfit! I think it's great that people who have personal style blogs get a chance to win this kind of experience - it's always models wearing the clothes in magazines, but it...

Junk of the Heart

This floaty babydoll dress is from 6KS . They have such an amazing range right now at such low prices, I keep perusing it to see what other summer steals I can get my hands on. I still love monochrome, but let's face it, I can't wear black and white all summer! So here's some uber girly pink.                 6KS Dress Sass and Belle wreath Topshop Necklace ASOS bracelet Ebay Backpack Banggood Sunglasses and Boots Front Row Shop tights

Dinosaurs and Dungarees

Image
Get this playful printed shirt from Front Row Shop And remember, when you sign up and complete your details, you get $15 credit. I love being able to have such a fun childish print, but still keeping things crisp with a white shirt - but these dungarees just complete the fun factor, so I had to go for the cute socks and buns. Sunglasses are my favourite way to bring the edginess back into the look.             Banggood sunglasses New Look jewellery Front Row Shop shirt Miss Selfridge Dungarees Topshop socks Select Sandals
